Resonance Skill Tree Reference — All Abilities & Nodes
Interactive skill tree reference for Resonance. All Resonance Points abilities, node prerequisites, costs, and build planning tool.
Skill Tree Reference Tool
This skill tree reference documents every paid mastery branch in Resonance: Aegean Deflect, Hero's Step, Bullbreaker Kick, Echo's Return, Heroic Surge, and Fated Cast. Full completion costs 165 of 200 Resonance Points. You can reset skills at any time; you cannot farm points through Chapter Select.
Buy Deflect first (including the red-parry mastery), then Hero's Step, then Kick. Focus Attack is free in Chapter IV and is not one of the six branches. Order and costs: best skills first.
Strategic build analysis also sits in the skill tree and builds guide.
Known Combat Abilities
Echo's Return: Parry-linked shockwave staggering nearby enemies after successful deflection. Prerequisite: basic parry enhancement nodes. High priority for one-versus-many encounters and boss add phases shown in preview chapter 5.
Bullbreaker Kick: Enhanced guard-breaking kick with extended range and bonus damage against shield soldiers. Prerequisite: basic kick node. Essential early investment for preview chapter 4 shield-heavy encounters.
Heroic Surge: Temporary attack speed boost after parry chains or critical strikes. Prerequisite: parry or critical damage nodes. Enables aggressive combo extensions deleting standard enemies before they attack.
Additional combat nodes referenced in preview coverage include parry window extensions, critical damage amplifiers, grappling hook range upgrades, dodge recovery improvements, and block chip damage reduction.
Known Exploration Abilities
Sphere Enhancement nodes extend Minoan Sphere beam range, increase receptor activation speed, and reveal hidden receptor locations through subtle glow effects. Synergize with puzzle content in our Minoan Sphere guide and light manipulation guide.
Notebook Enhancement nodes highlight relevant environmental symbols when the crew notebook is open and auto-mark locations mentioned in recent entries. Pair with our notebook clues guide for optimal puzzle-solving efficiency.
Traversal nodes improve grappling hook range, recovery speed, and anchor point detection — documented alongside equipment details in our grappling hook weapons page.
Build Planning Tips
Preview builds suggest limited or no respec options — plan investments carefully using this reference before committing Resonance Points. Allocate 60% of early points to your primary playstyle (combat or exploration) and 40% to universal quality-of-life nodes.
Before mid-game difficulty spikes in preview chapters 4 and 5, ensure minimum investments in parry enhancement OR Bullbreaker Kick plus at least one damage amplifier. Under-invested skill trees make preview-demonstrated encounters significantly harder.
Cross-reference sword collectible perks from our swords guide when planning cohesive builds — sword perks and skill nodes should complement rather than duplicate effects.
Resonance Points Economy
Preview observations suggest total available Resonance Points exceed combined skill costs in a thorough 15–20 hour playthrough, enabling near-complete tree unlock without perfect completion. Optional exploration, combat trials, and collectible discovery accelerate point accumulation beyond main story minimums.
Spend points incrementally rather than hoarding — preview difficulty spikes in chapters 4 and 5 assume partial progression. Early Bullbreaker Kick or Keen Eye investments provide immediate returns. Save three-point abilities like Echo's Return, Heroic Surge, and Sphere Mastery for identified playstyle priorities after experiencing mid-game content via our preview chapters guide.
| Skill | Category | Cost | Effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Aegean Deflect | Parry | Branch 1 — 5 + 10 (15 total) | Perfect parries deal far more stun. Mastery 1 lets you parry red attacks. Mastery 2 stacks bonus sword damage (up to two stacks) after each Aegean Deflect until you take a hit. Unlock this branch first. |
| Hero's Step | Dodge | Branch 2 — 10 + 10 (20 total) | Chain a second dodge. Mastery 1 grants near-invulnerability during the step. Mastery 2 adds a spin that damages nearby enemies but leaves Sophia more open. Take Mastery 1 for survival. |
| Bullbreaker Kick | Crowd control | Branch 3 — 15 + 10 (25 total) | A second kick that stuns and shoves enemies — essential against Brutes and shields. Mastery 1 guarantees a push on the second kick. Mastery 2 increases stun when they collide with people or scenery. |
| Echo's Return | Counter | Branch 4 — 20 + 10 (30 total) | While being attacked (not on yellow or red telegraphs), snatch an enemy and throw them into allies for area stun. Required for the Skilled maneuverer trophy (stun three at once). |
| Heroic Surge | Sustain | Branch 5 — 25 + 10 (35 total) | A critical-strike kill grants a brief shield that absorbs the next hit. Strong on aggressive runs once you already have Deflect and Hero's Step. |
| Fated Cast | Throwables | Branch 6 — 30 + 10 (40 total) | Stores a projectile so you can throw on demand. Useful for archers and No holds barred (stun 20 enemies with throwables), but lower priority than the three defensive branches. |
